The ocean theme is so much fun in preschool! We read The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. If you don't have The Rainbow Fish book, you can watch it on your computer at home by clicking here. After reading the book, students used fine motor skills to make their own rainbow fish. It wouldn't be a real rainbow fish without glitter! We have been working on our ocean scenes throughout the week. Students colored and cut out a shell, added a starfish, tore green paper as seaweed, and glued sand to the bottom of their ocean scene. We used even made an ocean scene on the smartboard. You can try it at home: Create an Animal Ocean. During centers, students have been enjoying the ocean sensory table, and the beach dramatic play area!!! Try a celery fishing pole snack at home! Count how many fish you "catch"!

Today, we planted sunflower seeds with Mrs. Storm! Our sunflower seeds will grow into giant sunflowers! Once our seeds become seedlings, we will plant them in the garden at James Morris School. We can't wait to see how tall sunflowers grow!! Then, we played Duck, Duck, Goose since it was so nice outside today. Thank you, Mrs. Storm!! |
