As a class, we created a list of promises/rules that are important to follow in order to be safe, learn, make friends, and have fun in preschool. We explored each promise in depth through stories, songs, videos, and role playing. Each child made a promise by adding their fingerprint using paint! Below are some videos and songs that we watched to help children further understand some of the promises.

Ask your child about the cozy corner in our classroom.
We have begun talking about our feelings in pre-K. Mrs. Bolton, school social worker, visited our classroom and helped us created a cozy corner. At the cozy corner, we can relax, read a book, and use our Feelings & Emotions Mirrors to help understand and express how we are feeling. Going to the cozy corner can sometimes help us feel better. We also learned a song about expressing feelings. Chester, our raccoon stuffed animal, helped to read us "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn. We talked about our first day of school feelings, and what can help us feel better. Then, we created our own Kissing Hand for our families at the art center!
