Next week, we will be working on letter "B"! "B" is for bear, balloons, bumble bee, blocks, butterfly, books, baseball, buttons.... what else can you think of that begins with "B"?!
We had many special visitors today in pre-K! We sang Five Little Pumpkins with our smart board, read the book, and then created Five Little Pumpkins art! Then, we read books together. It was so much fun!!
Fingerplays help children learn language, rhymes, memory, social and fine motor skills. Five Little Pumpkins also helps teach counting and ordinal numbers. When students created Five Little Pumpkins art, they worked on counting five pumpkins with one-to-one correspondence and adding detail to their art, such as a moon and faces on their jack-o-lantern pumpkins. Try practicing the song/fingerplay at home! We learned about fire safety when we visited the fire station in Morris!
Three important things that we need to talk to our parents about are: - Make sure you have smoke detectors at home - Make sure you find ways to get out of your house in case there was ever a fire - Pick a meeting place to meet outside in case there was ever a fire We even got to spray water out of the fire hose!! Thank you very much to all the firefighters who invited us to visit and taught us about fire safety! We have begun our weekly letter exploration!!! We are working on letter "P"! What begins with letter "P": pumpkin, pig, pizza, paint, pineapple, pear... what else can you think of that begins with "P"?
