We are excited to have Mrs. Leite as a paraprofessional in preschool this school year.
We had a fun-filled first week of preschool! We made new friends, learned new names, became accustomed to our new classroom, daily schedule, rules, and routine. Essentially, we are beginning to learn how to become learners, and love school. As a whole class, we started creating some class rules that we think are important to learn, be safe, and have fun. We will call them "Our Preschool Promises." Learning centers that we worked and played in this week include: reading, blocks, and the house center. During circle time, we sang name songs, sang and danced during music and movement, and listened to stories. We read: The Kissing Hand (Penn), The Night Before Preschool (Wing), Preschool Day, Hooray! (Strauss), and If You Take a Mouse to School (Numeroff). Students learned to identify their cubby area, where they keep they backpack and belongings during preschool.

It's so wonderful to hear the positive feedback!! I strive to instill a love of school and learning in pre-K, and prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
