We explored our five senses through music, wellness, art, and literacy. We read picture books about the five senses, and created a five senses self portrait. Bells to hear, eyes to see, candy to taste, dried beans to touch, and a scented pom pom to smell. On our Smart Board, we learned about the five senses on BrainPop Jr. We worked with Mr. Loomis during instrumental music enrichment, and used some of our senses to explore instruments. In particular, it was fun for students to close their eyes, and listen to the rain stick instrument! During wellness enrichment with Mrs. Wright, we played a game where we had to use our sense of hearing, smell, and touch to identify foods; we couldn't use our sense of sight. Students identified foods such as a carrot, pasta, and yogurt, and them placed them in the corresponding food group. It was a fun game!
