Students learned about Martin Luther King, Jr. through books, activities, and watched a nonfiction video about Martin Luther King, Jr. on BrainPopJr on the smart board. We learned about his dream for equality, and talked about how our differences make us special. Principal Chapman read to us, The Crayon Box That Talked.. We read a poem called, "With My Own Two Hands," and watercolor painted a hand picture. At the science learning center, students participated in an egg cracking science lesson, showing that eggs may look different on the outside, but look the same on the inside, just like people. Also, students brought home a MLK mini book to read at home with their families.
