On Grandparents'/Special-Someones' Day, preschoolers strengthened fine motor and creativity skills by making play dough pumpkins with visitors!
It was very exciting for students to pick a pumpkin from our "Pre-K Pumpkin Patch"!! Thank you very much to Mr. and Mrs. Paletsky for donating pumpkins from their farm! Students participated in pumpkin science. Children learned the lifecycle of a pumpkin, and made weight comparisons such as heavy/light. For math, preschoolers compared pumpkin stems, identifying some of them as "long" or "short". Students ordered pumpkins by size from smallest to largest.
For art, we made beautiful glitter pumpkins by covering the pumpkin with Elmer's glue and glitter! Preschoolers also created their own "Five Little Pumpkins" craft. This helped to strengthen counting with one-to-one correspondence, and spatial understanding with facial features.
